Pick-up truck (with DOG on board) stolen as owner unloads vehicle

A grey Ford Ranger pick-up with a dog on board was stolen from a farm as the owner was unloading the vehicle. The incident happened in Main Street, Mareham-le-Fen, at around 12.20pm on Tuesday, August 1. The owner who was unloading the 4 x 4 at the time, had turned his back, and saw the vehicle leaving his yard.

The vehicle keys, the owner’s dog and mobile phone were in the vehicle at the time. The dog has been recovered and is unharmed.

Officers searched the surrounding area and found the stolen vehicle between Kirkby-on-Bain and Coningsby at about 1.20pm. A police spokesman said: “If you think you can help with our enquiries or saw anything suspicious including the grey Ford Ranger being driven between 12.20pm and 1.20pm please contact us on 101 quoting incident 171 of August 1.

“Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or on-line at crimestopers-uk.org.

“We would remind people to always remove their keys when they get out of their vehicles.”
