Coca Cola truck tour dates announcement leaves “lots of children and big kids disappointed”

Holidays are coming and Coca Cola has announced the dates its truck will be visiting towns and cities all over the UK. But not everyone is full of festive cheer as some people grew very disappointed after reading the full list of 42 stops – and realising it wasn’t coming anywhere near them. When we posted the Coca Cola truck dates on our Facebook page, we were inundated with comments from people angry they wouldn’t get a chance to see it this year.

Most annoyed are those Coca Cola fans living in Northern Ireland – where the truck isn’t going at all – and Scotland. Only those in Glasgow will get a glimpse of the famous vehicle, which isn’t stopping anywhere else in the country.

The trucks were made famous in Coca Cola’s 1990s advert

Others expressed disappointment the truck will not be visiting Poole, Norfolk or north Wales, saying there would be “lots of disappointed children and big kids at heart”. She McAleenan commented: “What is wrong with the people of Northern Ireland are we not part of the UK very disappointed we will not get to see this in the run up to Christmas.”

Nicola Byrne, posting an angry face emoji, wrote: “2 stops in Glasgow does aberdeen (sic), Edinburgh, inverness not exist.”

Nicola Nicoll said: “3 years ago you visited Perth in Scotland – last year it was Dundee and now only 2 stops in Glasgow for Scotland? Poor show Coca Cola.” Charli Williamson: “So we’re forgetting about the smaller towns in the north west this year are we?!

What happened to Morecambe, lancaster, (sic) preston or blackpool?!?” Jacquie Jones: “Nowhere near north Wales all dates over 2 hours away.”

This year people can project selfies on to the side of the vehicle

To be fair to Coca Cola, the truck can’t visit everywhere. But the main cause of annoyance seemed to be that it wasn’t even entering Northern Ireland and was only visiting one place in Scotland.

Catherine MacInnes: “Just Glasgow for Scotland disappointing what about the rest of the country ??” Margaret McAllister: “Why are they not coming to Northern Ireland lots of disappointed children and big kids at heart”
