Asian Bulk Logistics, a Jakarta-based integrated logistics and transportation service provider for the mining and commodities industry, has launched a program to expand its network of operations in the Indonesian dry bulk shipping sector. The company is initially investing in cargo transfer ships and barges to increase its service offering in the Indonesian coal sector, and it has a larger plan to develop a global dry bulk shipping fleet. “We see many opportunities in the bulk shipping sector, our roots are in Indonesian coal mining, so it is natural for us to operate and manage our own cargo transfer ships and expand our fleet of barges to better serve our customers in the local mining sector,” said Ika Bethari, president director of Asian Bulk Logistics.

According to Captain Pappu Sastry, deputy CEO of ABL, the company’s goals are to develop ship owning, logistics and shipping concepts and it will also provide logistics support by utilising self-owned and chartered fleet of vessels within Indonesia.
