Footage has emerged showing the shocking moment raiders reverse a truck into a store before making off with an ATM.

Cops said they are still searching for the thieves after they smashed through the 7-Eleven near Takoma Metro station in Washington DC at 1.55 in the morning.

Two suspects, all wearing black clothes and masks, ran inside the store after driving the blue Ford pickup through the glass on January 19.

They tried to lift the ATM but struggled with the weight, forcing a third suspect to assist and help them place it on the back of the vehicle.

The raiders then fled with their loot, ditching the truck and parts of the ATM nearby.

Store manager Jasjeet Khanuja said one of his staff members had to go to hospital after the shocking ordeal.

Speaking at the time, he told Fox5[2]: ‘The last four days, we have filed four shoplifting incidents, and a month-and-a-half ago, we got robbed at gunpoint here.

‘So it is not surprising. We have been asking for increased police presence and hopefully now with this incident, we can actually get it.’

Police Commander Will Manplaza, however, said ATM thefts are happening ‘all over the region’.

He added: ‘I think those ATM machines are easier to steal because they are not connected to the wall like a traditional bank. They are kind of by themselves.

‘They are not that heavy.

So as you can see, a few people can actually pick it up and take it.’

A month after the 7-Eleven robbery, police say, a similar raid was conducted – but the suspects did not succeed in taking the ATM.

Cops are now asking for help finding the suspects.

Anyone with knowledge of the incidents is asked to call (202) 727-9099 or text 50411.
