Shreveport will gain hundreds of jobs with the opening of an aircraft maintenance facility at its main airport. Florida-based cargo freight carrier Western Global Airlines[1] has selected Shreveport Regional[2] as the hub for maintaining its 16 Boeing 747s and McDonnell Douglas MD-11s. The project announced Tuesday by Louisiana Gov.

John Bel Edwards and Western Global founder and CEO James Neff will create 170 jobs with an average salary of more than £45,200 a year plus benefits. Louisiana Economic Development[3] estimates it also will result in the creation of 308 indirect jobs, for a total of more than 475 new jobs in Northwest Louisiana. A job fair is planned later this month.
