Joseph Horton, 18, was arrested after he stole NFL star Blake Bortles’ wallet and tried to steal his car

NFL star quarterback Blake Bortles thwarted a teenage thief at a Jacksonville Jaguars teammate party.

Bortles was with several teammates at a party at offensive lineman Brandon Linder’s beach house when he noticed a young teenager crashing the gathering on Wednesday.

Suspicious, Bortles realized he wasn’t a party guest and cornered the teenager, 18-year-old Joseph Horton, inside the home and called police.

It turns out that Horton had pilfered his new black Ford F-150 truck parked in front of the party, which was unlocked with its keys inside, according to TMZ[2].

Surveillance footage at the home caught the thief on camera and allegedly shows the suspect taking Bortles’ wallet and attempting to steal the car.

But he couldn’t make his escape as the car was boxed in by other vehicles.

The suspect then entered the party, where he was cornered by the players.

After they phoned police, Bortles and two of his friends stood guard over the teen to assure he wouldn’t get away.

Horton, a student at Fletcher High School, said he was at the party looking for a former girlfriend, but no one at the party knew who he was searching for, according to News4Jax[3].

When police asked where he lived, his address turned out to be a multimillion-dollar home on the Intracoastal Waterway, not far from the party.

Neighbors confirmed that he lived there with his parents.

Horton was arrested and booked for burglary, grand theft, and trespassing.

No one was hurt in the incident.
