A Mar-Jac Poultry[1] truck carrying hundreds of chickens rolled over Tuesday on Corinth Road in Petal. The road was blocked for several hours while company employees worked to get the chickens back in the crates and clear the scene. Two additional trucks were brought to the accident site to remove the chickens after the rolled vehicle was removed from the scene.

Petal police were at the scene to reroute motorists around the accident. Story continues after photo gallery.

A Mar-Jac official at the scene declined to comment. Petal ordinances prohibit commercial vehicles on most city streets, including Corinth Road.

If cited, the company and driver face fines of up to £500 and 90 days in jail for each violation.
