Joyriding forklift truck driver seen 'swerving' down Stoke-on-Trent road

Police have arrested a joyrider seen 'swerving' down a Stoke-on-Trent road - in a stolen forklift truck. CCTV operators alerted officers on the ground after spotting the vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in Fenton in the early hours of yesterday morning (August 16). Checks revealed the machine had been stolen.

A suspect was arrested and taken to the Northern Area Custody Facility at Etruria for questioning. Tweeting about the incident Staffordshire Specials - volunteers who help out the force - quipped: "After being spotted by CCTV operators, one of the Longton Specials attended this forklift swerving in and out of the road in Fenton. Turns out it was stolen.

Culprit soon apprehended and given a LIFT to custody."

It has not been revealed where in Fenton the incident took place.
