FedEx truck shot up on Easter, sheriff’s office says

A near-crash on Easter left a FedEx truck riddled with bullet holes and the driver scared for his life, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the shots rang out around 3:17 p.m. on Freehold Drive in Southeast Shelby County. According to SCSO, a FedEx driver was driving along Freehold Drive when he stopped at a stop sign and made a left turn onto Long Creek Road. The FedEx driver told the sheriff’s office that a black car ran the stop sign and almost hit the FedEx truck.

The driver said that when he turned around and went back to Freehold Drive he saw the driver of the black car get out and fire off several shots at his truck. The driver of the truck was not hit, but the cargo was struck by multiple bullets, according to the sheriff’s office. Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said that this is an ongoing investigation.
