Crash involving motorbike and van locks down Scots road for four hours

A CRASH involving a motorbike has locked down a Scots road for FOUR HOURS.

The bike and a van collided on the A941 at Fogwatt near Elgin, Moray, around 7am this morning.

The road is still closed between Oat Burnie Road and Thornhill Road, with the emergency response still ongoing.

The extent of any injuries is not yet known.


Lanarkshire lorry fire LOCKS DOWN M74 causing major delays[1]


A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called at 7am following reports of a two-vehicle road crash between a van and a motorbike on the A941 Elgin to Rothes road.

“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is closed between Oat Burnie Road and Thornhill Road.”

Earlier, a smash between two HGVS in Ayrshire[2] locked down a busy road at rush hour.

The A737 is closed in both directions at Manrahaead roundabout, Beith, after the collision around 7.40am this morning.

Cops revealed that the smash involved two lorries, but no serious injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, a lorry fire on the M74[3] was causing major delays this morning.

The vehicle last night burst out in flames on the northbound carriageway near junction 14 at Crawford, Lanarkshire,

Fire crews have tackled the blaze but the burnt out vehicle is still blocking the road, which remains closed.
