Delays as 3 lanes closed on motorway after crash ‘involving lorry’

THREE lanes were closed on the M60 near Bolton[1] following a crash involving a lorry this afternoon.

The accident occurred at around 1.30pm, and resulted in shed loads of vases and flowers being strewn across three lanes on the M60 anticlockwise near A580 East Lancashire Road.

Traffic officers attended the scene and there were delays along the route, with only one lane currently open for a period of around two hours.

It is currently unknown whether anyone has been injured in the incident.

A Highways England spokesperson said: “On the M60 anticlockwise at Junction 15 (#WorsleyBraided #M61), three lanes have been closed due to a spillage in the carriageway.

“Traffic Officers and North West Motorway Police are on their way to the area.”

Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
