Every home comfort imaginable will be loaded onto a big lorry bound for a six-day journey to Baku as the usual airlines are not doing the route.

Cans of baked beans, cereals, Welsh cakes — a favourite of the players — and supporters’ flags for the stadium will be included.

For training and matches the lorry will also be taking a hyperbaric chamber (which uses oxygen therapy to treat injuries), ice baths, two heat presses, 30 boxes of kit, mannequins, lateral flow Covid-19 tests, emergency PPE, footballs, poles, hurdles, printers, analysis cameras and a drone so we can film sessions from above.
