Live updates as air ambulance attends serious accident

An air ambulance has been called to a serious incident near Burton.

There is queuing traffic reported in both directions in Main Street, Branston, which is believed to be due to a crash which has happened in the last hour.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] confirmed crews were dealing with a potentially serious road traffic collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.

There was an ambulance, a paramedic officer and two air ambulances at the scene and crews were dealing with two patients, the spokesman said.

The air ambulance had landed at nearby Paget High School.

Traffic and travel information website Inrix has confirmed that the incident has been reported at Main Street near its junction with Warren Lane and as a result there was queuing traffic.

Google Maps confirms there was queuing traffic from Parkway and Regents Park Road in the area.

Staffordshire Police are also said to be on the scene and a police helicopter is believed to be in the area.
