Car driver killed in crash with semi-truck on U.S. 54 in northeast El Paso

Traffic UPDATE: El Paso police confirmed early Thursday that the driver of a car was killed after colliding with a semi-truck pulling two trailers at 14000 Gateway North (US 54) and Stateline Road. The death acknowledgment from the Wednesday night crash came as police reopened the roadway in northeast El Paso around 3 a.m.

Thursday. Investigators said the crash occurred when the car failed to yield to the semi-truck; one of the truck’s two trailers overturned on the road as a result of the collision. While the car driver died in the wreckage, police said the truck driver wasn’t injured; the drivers were the only people in either vehicle.
