Central Florida man dies in Osceola, I-4 crash with semi truck

A 34-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning after a crash between a pickup truck and a semi truck along Interstate 4 in the Osceola County area, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A 26-year-old, of Windermere, was driving a 2003 Toyota Tundra east on I-4, approaching mile marker 65 near Osceola Parkway, in the right lane, said the FHP’s Lt. Kim Montes.

The driver was accompanied with a 34-year-old passenger of Kissimmee. A 44-year-old man was driving a semi truck and pulling a trailer in front of the Tundra, Montes said. For unknown reasons, the Tundra failed to slow while approaching the trailer’s rear and crashed into it, Montes said.

The 34-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Montes said. The FHP noted the passenger was wearing a seatbelt. The Tundra driver received minor injuries, and the semi-truck driver was not injured.

Troopers are on scene still investigating.
