Just before 4 p.m., a 53-year-old Branford man, behind the wheel of the semi, was driving south on U.S.

19 in Taylor County when, for reasons as yet unknown, “a pedestrian entered the roadway” and was struck by the large vehicle, FHP said.  The 67-year-old Perry woman, who has not been identified, died at the scene. The driver did not receive any injuries as a result of the crash.  FHP withholds the names of people involved in crashes and gives only general vehicle descriptions because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a state constitutional amendment that guarantees privacy rights for crime victims.
