Ennis Haulier Says Truck Drivers Facing 25% Price Increases Due To Inflation

An Ennis-based haulier says truck drivers nationwide have seen price increases of up to 25 percent in the last number of months.

It’s after new figures released by the Government revealed more than half of transport companies faced higher costs in March.

An 18 million euro support scheme of EUR100 per week for each licenced heavy goods vehicle opened last month but is only set to last for the next number of weeks.

Ennis-based President of the Irish Road Haulage Association Eugene Drennan says any State support they’ve received has already been swallowed up by soaring inflation.
